About Herzing College
Herzing College is named after a real person, our founder, Dr.Henry Herzing. In 1965 Henry and Suzanne Herzing opened their first school in Milwaukee, and in 1970 the Winnipeg school opened at 723 Portage. Henry and Suzanne weren’t sure they would make it through those first few months, let alone the next five decades! But, like anyone who starts a new career knows, it’s all about perseverance and pushing past self-doubt.
Dr. Herzing attributes his success in business and in life to being focused, persistent and determined. He says, "I constantly challenge myself to learn new things and won’t quit until I’ve reached my personal best."
In 2020, Herzing College celebrates its 55th anniversary. In 55 years we’ve helped over 40,000 graduates start a new career path, and grown to include 7 campus locations in Toronto, Cambridge, Montreal, Ottawa and Winnipeg, an Online Student Support Centre in Edmonton, and an online professional development division – Kompass. Hundreds of caring Herzing staff members support students, every step of the way in achieving their educational goals.
We offer close to 100 diploma and certificate programs, on-campus and online, in a wide range of disciplines including business, design, education, healthcare, legal studies, media, technology and construction. Herzing College delivers on-campus and online training, with a goal of delivering just the right kind of training at just the right time, to meet people’s evolving needs. We watch employment trends very closely, to ensure our programs are up-to-date, so you will learn the skills you need right now to advance your career.
How You Can Learn
Herzing College employs several learning models. When you applied to the college, you were offered the model(s) available for your program.
Some programs are offered online with a corresponding Onground (classroom) program. Some programs are offered only online, an example of this is Supply Chain Management and Logistics. These are interactive programs with an Instructor who has both education and industry experience. OnCampus:
Some programs are offered only in the Classroom.
Often an online program will be offered with a corresponding classroom where online students may visit if they are unsure of a concept. Usually online students visit the classroom one to two times in a course, and some never feel the need to visit.
Integrated Learning System
: Students in ILS work on computers and in the Learning Management System. There is a Subject Matter Expert in the room to answer questions and explain challenging content.
